Facial Aesthetics and Wrinkle Softening
Facial Aesthetics and Wrinkle Softening and Removal in Telford
At Bridge Dental Smiles we know that wrinkles can cause problems with self-esteem and self-confidence. After all, nobody wants to show that they are ageing. This is why we offer a range of natural and subtle wrinkle reducing treatments, such as wrinkle correction injections and dermal fillers. We use these materials in very small amounts, and we aim to reduce the signs of ageing, without causing you to look false. These injections leave you with a younger, smoother and more youthful looking face. In short, wrinkle removal can turn back the clock.
Are you unhappy with prominent wrinkles on your face such as frown lines, crow’s feet or forehead wrinkles and deep creases?
Fine lines and wrinkles affect all of us and become more apparent with time. Treatments are available to help soften these lines and give you back a more desirable, youthful appearance. As we grow older the skin loses its elasticity and our treatments aim to diminish the signs of aging smoothing and improving the firmness of the aging skin.
What do you use to soften wrinkles?
At Bridge Dental Smiles we use Azzalure®, which is a naturally produced protein used to temporarily relax muscles, leaving you with a more rejuvenated appearance, without the need for invasive surgery. These effects can last up to 4 months, after which you are more than welcome to visit the practice for another session.
Azzalure® is given by way of injections using very fine needles. It is a compound called Botulinum Toxin type A and is made by Galderma. It has been used in the UK since the 1990’s and It gained approval for cosmetic use in the UK in early 2009. It is the same protein as other products such as Dysport, Botox, Vistabel and Xeomin.
Another way of reducing lines and creases is by the use of dermal fillers.
These are made of hyaluronic acid which is produced by our own bodies, and they work by filling out lines and wrinkles, in order to provide a more desirable, youthful appearance. By replacing lost volume in the skin with the filler it helps to fill out lines and folds and alters the facial contours, leaving you admiring your more rejuvenated and firmer skin.
The effect varies between person to person and can last between 4-8 months, after which you will need a further session to again revitalise your appearance.
What areas can be treated?
Wrinkle removal injections using Azzalure can be used on different areas of the face, but the most common area to treat are forehead creases, frown lines between the brows, bunny lines over the bridge of the nose, and Crows feet at the side of the eyes.
Azzalure is only effective on creases which are due to muscle activity. Other lines can be filled and reduced with dermal fillers, but we will discuss the best way of treatment when we see you for a cosmetic consultation.
Do I need time off Work?
Wrinkle treatment is extremely quick and straightforward, which means there’s no need to worry about scheduling in time for recovery. Simply, small amounts of the injection are administered to the targeted areas and most appointments are no longer that 15 minutes. Once the treatment has been given, you’re free to go about your day as normal. However, we do suggest avoiding any strenuous activity for a short while afterwards and to avoid rubbing the area vigorously such as when drying after having a wash.
How does Azzalure work?
The botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles which are causing the wrinkle, by temporarily stopping it from moving. Because the muscle is no longer working then it will reduce in size and the creasing becomes less noticeable. This effect will last for about four months. As soon as you notice that movement is returning it is important to return for a further treatment to prevent further muscle development and the return of the wrinkle.
